My Story

Hi, I’m Chelsey
Mom, writer, and someone who believes healing doesn’t have to look pretty to be real.
I’m the founder of Beyond The Chaos — a space I built because I was tired of pretending motherhood, faith, and healing were supposed to look tidy.
I write from the middle of it, not the other side of it. The overwhelmed seasons. The identity-rebuilding seasons. The “I don’t know who I am anymore” seasons. This is where I write about all of it, honestly.
My Story
For a long time, I thought I had to have it together to be worth listening to. I thought faith meant always feeling okay, and motherhood meant never admitting when I wasn’t.
Then life didn’t go the way I planned. I found myself navigating survival mode as a mom, rebuilding my identity after a season I never saw coming, and learning to parent boys whose needs looked different than what anyone prepared me for — out of loving my boys exactly as they are, and wishing I’d had resources like it sooner.
Somewhere in the middle of all that, I stopped performing wellness and started actually pursuing it. I stopped calling my hard days “just a bad day” and started calling them what they were — formation. Somewhere in there, Beyond The Chaos was born.
This blog, the books, the workbooks — they’re not me writing from a place of having it figured out. They’re me writing from a place of still becoming. That’s why grace is the whole point, not just a word I use.
What I believe
No Toxic Positivity
Hard seasons are hard. You don’t need to “just have faith” your way past honesty.
Faith Meets You in the Mess
God isn’t waiting for you to clean up first. He meets you exactly where you are.
Healing Is Slow, and That’s Okay
There’s no timeline for becoming whole. Every small step still counts.
